What we require

Six standards every agency meets.

Licensed where required

Agencies must hold a current license or registration wherever their state requires one.

Background checks

Every caregiver passes a criminal background check before they work with clients.

Insured and bonded

Agencies carry liability insurance and bonding, so families are protected.

Trained caregivers

Caregivers complete the training and health screening their state requires, like TB tests.

Employed and supervised

Caregivers are agency employees with a supervisor and a written care plan, not strangers from a listing.

Quick to respond

Agencies agree to reach out to families promptly and keep them updated.

How we check

How we check.

Standards only matter if someone checks them. Here is what happens before an agency can be matched with a family.

  1. 01

We verify the license where required

Where the state requires a license or registration, we check it before the agency joins, and again every year.

  2. 02

    We review how they hire

Background checks, training, health screening and how caregivers are supervised.

  3. 03

    We confirm insurance

Liability insurance and bonding, with proof on file.

  4. 04

    We listen to families

After every match we ask how it went. Agencies that fall short are removed.

How we pick your agency

We look for the agency that serves your area, offers the type of care you need, and fits your schedule and budget. We connect you with one agency only, so you won’t get calls from many.

If something isn’t right

Let us know at (213) 451-6802. We’ll follow up with the agency and help you find another option.

* Hailo Care is a free referral service. It is not a home care agency and does not employ caregivers or provide care. Each agency is responsible for hiring, screening, training, insuring and supervising its caregivers, and for the care it provides. Families should review an agency’s services and agreement before care begins.
